Patung Lilin Pertama Steve Jobs di Hong Kong

Untuk memperingati 1 tahun wafatnya sang legendaris dan mantan CEO Apple, Steve Jobs, museum lilin Madame Tussauds Hong Kong akan memamerkan patung lilin pertama dari sang inovator pada tanggal 27 September waktu setempat.

Steve Jobs akan dibuat ulang lengkap dengan baju turtleneck khasnya, Jeans Levi 501, dan sepatu New Balance.

Menurut penuturan dalam situs Madame Tussauds, Steve Jobs digambarkan tengah berpose santai dengan tangan terlipat di dada dan senyum kecil yang ramah. Pose ini disadur dari sampul majalah Fortune pada 2006 silam.

The techniques used to create the figure are extremely technology free, using the same tools and methods first employed by Madame Tussaud herself over two hundred years ago. The sculptors have anatomical knowledge to ensure every bone, muscle and tendon is replicated correctly according to the pose. When the clay sculpture is formed, each strand of hair is inserted one by one into the wax head by hand using a forked needle. Once complete, the hair is washed, cut and styled. Moreover, each iris is hand painted using gouache, and veining is added to the whites of the eyes with fine silk threads.

Steve Jobs versi patung lilin memakan biaya $200,000 atau bila dikonversikan ke Rupiah, biayanya hampir 2 miliar.

Nantinya, Jobs akan diletakkan di museum Madame Tussaud Hong pada bagian Historical and National Heroes dari tanggal 27 September hingga 26 November. Setelah itu, Jobs akan diterbangkan ke Madame Tussaud Bangkok dan Shanghai.
