Versi Terbaru SkyDrive Ditolak Oleh Apple Karena Melanggar Aturan Main App Store?

Pemutakhiran terbaru aplikasi Microsoft untuk platform iOS, SkyDrive ditolak oleh Apple. Hal ini diberitakan oleh The Next Web berdasarkan informasi dari sumber mereka yang tahu akan hal tersebut.

TNW menuturkan bahwa Apple menolak SkyDrive karena Microsoft enggan membayar sebesar 30% kepada Apple untuk setiap peningkatan storage yang dilakukan oleh pelanggannya. Sebagai informasi, versi terbaru SkyDrive menghadirkan kemampuan untuk meningkatkan jumlah storage langsung dari perangkat iOS.

The difficulty began when Microsoftrolled out the ability for SkyDrive users to puchase more storage space on the service. From that point, the company was not permitted to update it’s application in the iOS App Store.

The reason? It doesn’t pay Apple a 30% cut of subscription revenue generated by the application through the paid, additional storage. Microsoft, TNW has learned, has a new version of the application ready to go, including a key bug fix that would rectify a crashing bug, but cannot get it through.

Microsoft sendiri sudah merevisi versi terbaru SkyDrive tersebut dengan menghilangkan kemampuan meningkatkan storage dan berlangganannya. Versi ini sendiri sudah didaftarkan ke Appe Store namun hingga kini, Apple masih belum memberikan persetujuannya atas SkyDrive.

VentureBeat kemudian melanjutkan cerita ini dengan menghadirkan pengakuan langsung juru bicara Microsoft. Ia menyampaikan bahwa pihaknya mengalami penundaan persetujuan terkait pemutakhiran SkyDrive for iOS. Ia juga berharap agar Apple bisa segera menyetujui pemutakhiran tersebut.

â€œSimilar to the experiences of some other companies, we are experiencing a delay in approval of our updated SkyDrive for iOS. We are in contact with Apple regarding the matter and hope to come to a resolution. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.â€

Peraturan Apple memang terkesan agak ketat. Mereka tidak segan untuk menolak aplikasi-aplikasi yang berjalan tidak sesuai dengan peraturannya.

Beberapa bulan lalu, versi pemutakhiran Sparrow pernah ditolak oleh Apple karena mereka menghadirkan rich text untuk aplikasi mereka yang berjalan di iOS 5. Rich text adalah sebuah fitur yang tidak dihadirkan Apple di iOS 5 sehingga, tidak mengherankan apabila Apple menolak versi Sparrow ini.
