Kisah Pemberian Porsche Oleh Steve Jobs Kepada Craig Elliot

Kisah menarik lainnya mengenai Steve Jobs. Craig Elliot, seorang mantan eksekutif di Apple, menuturkan pengalamannya dengan Steve Jobs di saat masa-masa awal penjualan Mac.

Saat itu Elliot masih bekerja di sebuah toko komputer, dan ia merupakan orang yang berhasil menjual Mac paling banyak di US yakni 125 unit.

Elliot pun kemudian dipanggil ke Cupertino untuk bertemu dengan para eksekutif Apple lainnya, termasuk Steve Jobs. Ia kemudian menghabiskan 1 minggu bersama para eksekutif, sekaligus makan malam bersama sang legendaris.

Steve Jobs pun kemudian memberi Elliot sebuah mobil Porsche.

Kemudian, ketika Jobs tahu bahwa Elliot hanya menjual 125 buah saja, reaksi ala ‘Steve Jobs’ pun muncul.

“I had dinner with Steve Jobs, spent a week with the Apple executives and Steve gave me a Porsche.” But when Steve asked how many Macs Elliott had sold, it almost turned ugly.

“Jobs was like, ‘Oh my god! That’s all? That’s pathetic!” Elliott recalls. “I leaned over and said, ‘Steve, remember, I’m your best guy.’ Jobs said, ‘Oh, you’re right.’ And for the rest of the dinner we had a really nice time.”

Oh iya, saat itu Elliot masih berumur 23 tahun. Menginspirasi sekali.
