Bill Gates: Pengguna Tidak Bisa Mengetik dan Membuat Dokumen Dengan iPad

Chairman Microsoft, Bill Gates, mengungkapkan pendapatnya mengenai iPad dalam wawancara dengan CNBC Senin,6 Mei 2013.

Ia mengungkapkan bahwa iPad telah menyebabkan para penggunanya frustasi, mereka tidak bisa mengetik dan bahkan tidak bisa membuat dokumen. Ia mengatakan pula bahwa tidak ada Office di iPad.

With Windows 8, Microsoft is trying to gain share in what has been dominated by the iPad-type device. But a lot of those users are frustrated, they can’t type, they can’t create documents. They don’t have Office there. So we’re providing them something with the benefits they’ve seen that have made that a big category, but without giving up what they expect in a PC.

Gates, seperti yang tertera pada kutipan tersebut mengindikasikan pijakan tersebut sebagai titik keberangkatan mereka dengan Surface. Namun pada kenyataannya?

Okay, sebagai informasi, iPad diketahui telah menguasai 39,6% pasar tablet diseluruh dunia, meninggalkan Microsoft yang hanya berahasil meraih 1,8% saja.

“If you have Surface or Surface Pro, you have the portability of the tablet but the richness of terms of the keyboard, Microsoft Office of the PC,” said Gates, referring to Microsoft’s tablet.
