BBM Belum Akan Tersedia Buat iPad, Hanya iPhone dan Smartphone Lainnya

Sah-sah saja bila kamu para pengguna iOS dan Android merasa senang – atau sebaliknya – dengan kehadiran BBM. Tapi bagi kamu yang menggunakan iPad, sepertinya harus gigit jari. Kenapa? Karena BBM untuk sementara hanya akan tersedia buat smartphone saja.

Disampaikan oleh Head of the BlackBerry Software Portofolio Vivek Bhardwaj kepada Trusted Review, fokus BlackBerry saat ini hanyalah tertuju kepada smartphone saja.

Berikut penuturannya:

â€œAt this point it is iOS and Android, and thatâ€™s iOS phones running iOS 6 and higher,â€ Vivek Bhardwaj, Head of the BlackBerry Software Portfolio said. â€œSmartphone is our real focus and again it comes back to what BBM is. If you look BBM and the engagement and the activity, itâ€™s because it is mobile, because people are on the go.â€

Alasannya adalah karena sifat smartphone yang masih lebih portable ketimbang tablet-tablet yang ada. Selain itu, beragam faktor perubahan yang masih terjadi di sektor tersebut juga menjadi pertimbangan lainnya.

â€œWhen you start looking at tablets, computers and other screens, the usage model changes and behaviour changes. For us right now the absolute focus is getting BBM onto smartphones.â€

Sebelumnya, CEO BlackBerry Thorsten Heins mengumumkan bahwa BBM akan tersedia buat platform iOS dan Android pada musim panas tahun ini. Sebagai permulaan baru akan tersedia fitur chat dan group chat saja, fitur-fitu lainnya baru akan menyusul kemudian. Akses tautan ini untuk mengetahui dampak apa saja yang nantinya akan muncul dengan kehadiran BBM di iOS.
