Apple Jadi Anggota Automation Committee AS Awasi Mobil Self-Driving

Dalam persiapannya untuk masuk ke dalam industri otomotif dengan meluncurkan mobil listrik yang bisa melaju tanpa sopir (self-driving), Apple dikabarkan sudah menjalin kerja sama dengan U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT).

Kerja sama Apple tersebut diketahui dari pengumuman badan transportasi AS tersebut yang baru saja membentuk Automation Committee. Dalam siaran persnya seperti dilansir 9to5Mac, komite itu memiliki 25 anggota, yang salah satunya adalah petinggi Apple, Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson.

Automation Committee bakal bertugas mengawasi kebijakan yang berhubungan dengan transportasi berjenis self-driving yang saat mulai marak dikembangkan banyak produsen mobil, termasuk Apple.

Menurut rencana, Automation Committee bakal menggelar pertemuan perdana pada tanggal 16 Januari nanti untuk membahas pengembangan dan penggunaan kendaraan otomatis. Serta kebutuhan badan tersebut dalam penelitian, kebijakan, dan peraturannya.
